This
website was created in October 2002 in an effort to
create a forum for opinions to be expressed about
various sports topics in a different and humourous
light....although whether the material is actually funny
can be debated. The goal from the beginning was to
present topics from a unique perspective. Readers can
debate the validity of the opinions but can at least
count on and appreciate a fresh and unique perspective.
Keep
checking in as the site will continue to evolve over
time.
I'm a freelance sports
writer and creator of FourSport.ca and the Sports
Business blog,
Selling the Game. Published articles of
mine have appeared in Urban Male Magazine (UMM) and TORO
Magazine and my work has been featured on Hockey Night
in Canada (HNIC), TSN.ca, The Economic Times - India,
and the Ottawa Citizen. Additionally I have a Bachelor
of Commerce in Business with a specialty in Marketing,
which explains my interest in Sports Business.
Like FedEx I
hope to absolutely, positively deliver in everything I
write.
Hope you enjoy the read,

Writing often comes from experience. While my personal
writing style seems to border around a Sarterian
philosophical position tinged with an intellectual bent,
it also arises out of the experience of participating
and coaching in sports, and experiencing major sporting
events first-hand.
As
Special Contributor, (what I believe to be a promotion
from the position of East Coast Correspondent, but I
could be mistaken), I have had the opportunity to
witness several major events, from the 2003 World Junior
Hockey Final, to Sidney Crosby's
first game at the Halifax Metro Centre, to consecutive
St. Mary University football championships, and the
Elite Eight CIS Basketball Championship. In addition, I
have had the privilege to play and coach at the
provincial level, (soccer and hockey respectively). I
think being a fan, a player and a coach, (as well as
spending time at Carleton's School of Journalism) gives
me a unique perspective on sporting events.
When
not attending events, I have the luxury of being the
reigning Fantasy Source guru. As such, my duties include
spotlighting certain players, analyzing different
positions, and interpreting the impact of individual
statistics on team sports. The increasing popularity of
pools, formerly rotisseries, allows the Fantasy Source
to make an important contribution to the sporting
literature.

Usually people don’t like my opinion. But now I’ve been
given a golden opportunity to give it to you anyways and
tell you what’s right and wrong with the sports
industry…. mostly what’s wrong. I’ve had a chance to see
a little bit of the world so I hope to give you some
insight into other types of sports that we don’t hear
about or see on the 11pm highlight reel. I’ll also give
you my two cents into what’s happening at home and while
it might be a little controversial at least it may get
you thinking. And no one said thinking was a bad thing.
The
topics I'll cover will differ…. ranging anywhere from
sports in the tiny African nation of Uganda to a
maddening game called Hurling in Ireland. I’ll mix it up
a bit and keep things interesting.
So
yeah compliments and suggestions are always welcome and
criticisms…… you know where you can put them.
Enjoy,
